About Me

Chief Larry Larimore began his law enforcement career in 1985 as a reserve police officer volunteering his time to serve the citizens of Shawnee. He was hired as a regular, full-time police officer in 1987. After working as a patrol officer and detective, he was promoted to Patrol Sergeant in 1998, Patrol Lieutenant in 2000, Captain in 2001, Deputy Chief in 2008, and to his current rank of Major serving as Police Chief in 2011.

Chief Larimore graduated from Mid-America Nazarene University with a B.A. in Management and Human Relations and is a 2002 graduate of the 12th Session of the FBI's Central States Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar. Larry and his wife Debbie have been residents of Shawnee since 2003 and both are active in supporting Kansas Special Olympics sporting and fund-raising events.
